It gives you repeatability without overengineering. The goal is not to save every prompt. The goal is to save the few structures that genuinely improve recurring work.

Why this matters

Without a library, you repeat setup work and get more variable results. With too large a library, you never reuse anything because the system becomes clutter.

The sweet spot is a small set of prompts that cover the main phases of your recurring job. People who build effective libraries almost always arrive at the same insight: most of their value comes from three to five prompts, not thirty. The rest are experiments that never got reused.
